For 15 years, DogFest has been a neighborhood highlight. San Franciscans from all over the city gather to celebrate their love of dogs, families, and community.

  • Dog advocacy platform Bay Woof summarizes DogFest as a “carnival meets book fair complete with funny dog tricks!”
  • SF Gate describes DogFest as “[an event] to celebrate each and every pooch.”
  • In a 2021 interview, California Senator Scott Wiener revealed that the 2019 DogFest T-shirt is his favorite tee (and he’s collected a LOT). He also describes DogFest as his favorite San Francisco event.
  • The San Francisco Examiner recapped the 2019 event, noting the appearance of celebrity judges such as Mayor London Breed and Supervisors Vallie Brown and Rafael Mandelman.
  • Hoodline featured the 2020 virtual Dog Show winners, describing the online-only event as “a parade of cute.”
  • SFist recapped the 2017 Everyday Dog Show, noting that it celebrates “non-show dogs for their looks, walks, costumes, and tricks.”
  • Hoodline also covered the 2017 event, commenting that there was “no shortage of big smiles and wagging tails” at the daylong festival.
