Doggie Dash FAQ

What is the Doggie Dash?

The Doggie Dash was a virtual fun run that could be run anywhere, anytime between Saturday, April 9, and Friday, April 22. It was a 5k “race” with a one-mile and half-mile option for elementary-school-age kids.

Does it cost money to enter?

Yes, but all proceeds go to benefitting McKinley! Early registration for adults and bigger kids is $25 (by Sunday, March 27). Standard registration is $30 (before Saturday, April 23). Kids in fifth grade and below can enter the one-mile or half-mile run free!

How do I track and submit my time?

It’s easiest to use an app or wearable such as Strava, Garmin, MapMyRun, or Apple Health. You can also time yourself manually using a stopwatch/timer app. Submit your results at runsignup.com!

Will there be prizes?

Yes – for registered adults/5k participants! Every single person who registers and runs will get a snazzy DogFest water bottle. Winners for each category get special prizes and will be announced at DogFest:

Is there an in-person racing option?

Several runners ran through Golden Gate Park on April 16 and 17. We don’t have any more in-person options planned.

Do I have to attend DogFest to win?

Well, you don’t, but why miss out on the most fun you can have in Duboce Park?

You mentioned a water bottle?
