Car Wash & Candidate Challenge

Board of Ed member Emily Murase at our 2010 Car Wash & Candidate Challenge

Saturday, September 17, 10am – 2pm.

Who’s In So Far? Adachi, Avalos, Chiu, Dufty, Herrera, Lee, Rees, Ting, Yee…

McKinley is back for year two of challenging SF candidates to demonstrate their commitment to our public schools by getting wet and washing cars. This year all mayoral candidates are invited to roll up their sleeves and demonstrate their commitment to public education by washing cars for McKinley Elementary! The ground rules are simple:

All registered candidates are invited.

No campaigning allowed.

The challenge is driven by parent volunteers, and not an official activity of the PTA, McKinley, or SFUSD.

Last year 9 of 11 Board of Ed candidates turned out. So come by our foamy “forum,” get a wash and a bite at the bake sale, and see which of the 16 mayor’s candidates show up to wield the squeegee. See the SFGate article here!
