This year’s Safety Day, the fourth annual, was a rousing success. Thanks to Linnell Williams, Grandpa extraordinaire, vehicles (and horses!) from SFPD, SFFD, SF Sheriff, and MUNI came to McKinley for Safety Day demonstrations. The students got to check out fire trucks, get inside a Sheriff’s paddywagon, sit on the SFPD’s motorcycles, see a demonstration of the SFPD’s canine unit, and hear about safety on MUNI. They also got to pet two of the horses from the SFPD’s mounted patrol, and get inside one of SFPD’s fastest vehicles.
Another thanks to Mr. Williams for supplying lunch for all the volunteers. Thanks also to Chris Cosentino & Tatiana Graf for supplying a healthy snack for the entire school – apples, snap peas and Clif Bar fruit twists.
