Your Brain, Yourself!

Jeff Cookston, San Francisco State University faculty & McKinley parent, is bringing his team of graduate students to lead a 6-week workshop to teach the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades about the brain: how it works and strategies for using our brains effectively (i.e., stress reduction).  4th/5th grade teacher Ms. Chan says, “I am thrilled for this to start because it emphasizes the importance of hard work, thinking & effort… that intelligence isn’t fixed, that the brain & intelligence are like muscles & strength (you need to work & train your brain!).”
